... this area, and all comments in blue text, would not appear on your referrer logs.
... each item listed will be linked to the corresponding URL or image, we have removed the links for this example. Except for removing the links, all items are shown exactly as they would appear in your referrer logs. Even though the log files will not show the full domain URL with each HTML page and graphic listed, it would be linked with the full URL to each item.
... all the items on this page will be listed in alphabetical order. We have re-arranged some things to show examples of the different types of listings.
... these examples come from actual referrer logs, but we have edited some information to protect 'the innocent' and have not included ALL of the information that was on the referrer log for this weekly period. If you have a large website with a lot of images, this page would be a large file.
... these examples shown are for the domain 'autumnweb.com' and the HTML pages and graphics listed are from within that website. I.E., there really is a directory at http://www.autumnweb.com/Roxys/, but some of the other directories and page names have been changed since this reporting period.
HTML pages visited will be listed like one of these first three examples. It all depends on how the link was written to your website, or what the person typed it in on the location bar. All three of these are the same page on the website, as the index.html page is the default page shown when someone would type in http://www.autumnweb.com/Roxys or http://www.autumnweb.com/Roxys/

Also for HTML pages, you will be able to see if they reached that page from another website, or another page within your own website.

Here are some examples of pages that were found and reached via search engines. If you look hard between the "stuff" that the search engine records about the search made, you can see the key words or phrases that were used to search, and how that page is listed with that search engine. Normally, each one is all on one line, we did split some single lines into two so that you won't have horizontal scroll bars on your browser.

So you can see how valuable referrer logs are. If your web host doesn't provide them, maybe you should look for another web host?
