How do I transfer files to my website? | |
|
Files must be transferred to the web server via FTP (File Transport Protocol). If you need FTP, telnet, mail, or other Internet software, visit Shareware.com. An FTP tutorial is also available for beginner users. | |

Will I be able to access my files for updates 24 hours per day? | |
|
You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. | |

Can I use my account for commercial purposes? | |
|
Yes, all accounts can be used for commercial purposes. Hosting with an Ecommerce account comes with the Miva Merchant software and support, and allows more complex merchandising of your products. | |

Do I still need a Merchant account with Miva Merchant? | |
|
Don't confuse the two, they are different. Miva Merchant gives you all the tools to easily process online orders through a number of third party vendors. If you plan on being able to accept Master Card and Visa, you will still need to establish a Merchant account. You can arrange this service with the bank that your business uses, or, we have partnered with Card Service Intl. to help you with this. | |

Can I take orders with Miva Merchant and not use credit cards? | |

Yes! You can have people place orders and process them after receiving payment by any other means you desire, such as by check, wire transfer, etc. | |

Can I subdivide my space and resell it? | |
|
Yes, on the hosted accounts, you may use your space in any manner you wish, as long as it is within our policy guidelines. | |

Are extra FTP, telnet and POP accounts available? | |

Yes, for an additional one time setup fee, you can add additional login accounts.POP only, one time $ 8 setupPOP/FTP one time $ 13 setupPOP/FTP/Telnet one time $ 25 setup | |

Can I add more space to my site? | |

Yes, you can purchase extra space at $3.00 per month for each additional 10 megs. | |

Will server side includes (SSI) work on your server? | |
|
Yes, SSI's will parse on any page ending in .sht, .shtm, or .shtml, rather than the usual .htm or .html. | |

How long is it before my domain is active? | |
|
For hosted accounts, once Internic announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred), it usually takes about 72 hours before it is active. All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect the new site's location. | |

Can you handle domains with foreign extensions? | |
|
Yes, for non-Internic domains, you will need to file the registration with your local NIC services. | |

What type of Java support do you offer? | |
|
Currently jdk 1.1.5 is installed on all servers. At present, we do not support java servlets. | |

Do you maintain backups of my data? | |
|
Yes, we do backups of your home and WWW directories 3 times per week. There is a small charge to pull a backup when requested. | |

Can additional domains be pointed to my main domain? | |
|
Yes, we can alias (park) additional domains to point to the same main page as your master domain, and it will also share the same mail system. There is just a one time $25 setup for each domain you add as an alias. | |

Can I have a Guestbook, WWW Board, Search Site CGI, Random Text Generator. | |

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. They are included with your account. | |

Can I transfer an existing domain to your servers? | |
|
Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service with your current provider while waiting for Internic to complete the transfer process. | |

Do you offer dialup Internet access? | |
|
No, you will need local Internet access in order to maintain your website and retrieve email addressed to your site. | |
|
What type of hardware and software will I be hosted on? | |
|
We try to always use the latest hardware innovations, currently all domains are being hosted on dual pentium II 400/450 mghz with 260 megs of ram. The operating system is a customized version of redhat with the renown Apache web server. | |
